Morning Service at 11am

This Sunday morning, Alasdair Macleod, our Pastor, is speaking to us. He will continue in the series ‘The why and how of Christian service’. The sermon title for this morning is ‘The model for all our service’. The Scripture reading is Mark 10:44-45.

We look forward to welcoming you at our family service.

Evening Service at 6pm

This Sunday evening, Pastor Alasdair is bringing God’s to us from Ephesians 4:7-16, continuing in the series ‘Serving Together’.

Alpha

We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view.

Alpha is a 10-week course exploring the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed setting that includes some food, a talk and a discussion group. Alpha is ideal for people who want to explore the big questions in life. No previous knowledge of the Bible is needed and people with little or no church experience find it especially helpful.

Praying for Alpha Course

The Alpha course started on Monday 25th April and we are expecting 20-25 guests each week.

We would really value your prayer support over the next 6 weeks.

The subjects covered each week can be viewed here. If you would like to receive prayer points, please contact Doreen Campbell

Kidzone (age 0 - P6)

Our Kidzone meets during the morning service during school terms. Please join us on an adventure as we read the Bible together and find out about the Greatest Story Ever. Each week at Kidzone we will be reading a part of the Bible, finding out what happened and what God says to us through it.  We’d love for families find a wee bit of time each week to explore this together through the Family Bible Course, written by Andrew Ollerton and his family.

This week we will continue the adventure as we read the Bible together and find out about the Greatest Story Ever. The family link for this week's theme is Peter - The Greatest Story Ever

For more information, contact our Children's and Family worker Nicki Hutchison.

Junior Youth Fellowship (P7-S2)

The JYF is for those in P7 to S2 and they meet during the morning service at the Church House. Each week we enjoy some fun and games together and then chat about different aspects of the Christian faith.

Senior Youth Fellowship (S3-S6) from 7:30pm to 9:00pm

Our Senior YF meet at the church building on Sunday evenings during school term time. At the end of our meetings, we enjoy sharing food together and this time allows for great fellowship and conversation between young people and leaders. For more information, contact our youth worker Helen Cuthbert

This Sunday we will meet at the church house, and we will explore ‘What does the Bible say about how to pray?’.

Prayer at CCC

Growing in prayer is central to all we do and as part of this we recognise the importance of praying for and with each other as we worship together and rebuild our community. If you would like prayer after any of our morning or evening worship services, or during the week, we would be delighted to pray for with you. You can speak with Pastor Alasdair, one of the Elders or Janet Logue after the services and they will arrange this for you. You can also contact us by phone or send us prayer requests by email. Contact Pastor Alasdair or Janet

3. When you check out, you'll collect a free donation. It doesn't cost you a penny extra!

Fundraising opportunities

Blythswood Care Edinburgh Marathon (29th May 2022)

Cornerstone Trust is a Christian ministry funded by Blythswood Care that helps women and children trapped in the red-light district of Mumbai, India’s largest city. The project’s vision is to see children in the district, slums and tribal villages gain academic, vocational and life skills.  The aim is to empower them, so that they can step into a new and brighter future.

Both James McGillivray and James Trotman from our church went to India as students with Blythswood on a building and mission trip and also visited the slums of Mumbai.

They are running the Edinburgh marathon on 29th May 2022 to raise money for Cornerstone. Please support them.  The link is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jamesmandjamest

Bobby's Walk (from 13th May 2022)

Bobby is a member of the Production Team at CCC. He is walking the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William starting on 13 May.  He will walk the 96 miles over 7 days.

Bobby would like to fundraise for replacement equipment for the team whilst doing this personal challenge.

There are always lots of small items of equipment, microphones, cables, batteries etc that need to be maintained and replaced over the course of a year, and any monies raised will go towards assisting with this.
Every little helps. Please support Bobby in this. Bobby's Walk - CCC Fundraiser · ChurchSuite Donate

From Other Christian Organisations...

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal

There is a carton in the foyer in which to put any donations for the annual Shoe Box Appeal.

Each month we will focus on different items. For May, this is shaving gel / razors.

We welcome any contributions towards this. Any questions, please speak to Danny Muschate.

Highland Foodbank Appeal for May

A massive thank you to all who donate to Foodbank either regularly, or as-and-when you can.  Your donations really make the difference to people living in our communities to whether they eat or not, that’s the reality.

During March, Highland Foodbank was able to give enough food to 500 adults and children, which enabled them to make three meals over three days.  We could only do this because of the generosity of people who donate both food and finance.  We are still extremely well stocked for pasta, soup and beans, so are unable to take donations of these items, meantime.

Please find below our shopping list for May, listing the items we are currently shorter of:

Long life fruit juice, UHT milk, tins of potatoes / smash, tins of custard/rice, tins of corned beef, toilet rolls, bags of life (new or used).

As always, donations can be dropped off at our Foodbank Warehouse, 1 Glebe Street, Inverness, IV1 1RF Monday-Thursday 10am-3pm, or to any Blythswood Care Charity shop during their opening hours.

Support for Parents, Families and Couples
