We believe the Bible is God’s word and as relevant today as it was when it was written. It contains God’s plan for our world and for us as individuals, and is our guidebook for life.
We believe the central theme of the Bible is God’s amazing and undeserved love for mankind; that the God who created the world is interested in each one of us and wants to have a personal relationship with us.
We believe that it is impossible for anyone to have such a relationship through their own efforts. Though created in the image of God, we have all fallen short of God’s standards and are characterised by sin which separates us from a holy God.
We believe that despite this God has not given up on us. Indeed quite the opposite. God demonstrated His love for us and provided a means of restoring this broken relationship through sending His only son, Jesus, into the world.
We believe what the Bible says about Jesus; that he was God but became human, that he was born of a virgin and lived a uniquely perfect life, that he was crucified and after three days in the tomb, rose to life again, ascended to heaven and is alive in heaven today.
We believe that in dying on the cross, Jesus took our place, paid the penalty that our sins deserved and made it possible for us to be reconciled to God.
We believe that the offer of forgiveness, of a new relationship with God, of new and eternal life and the many other promises contained in the Bible are available to everyone who makes a personal commitment to Jesus, acknowledging their sins, accepting His forgiveness, asking Him to come into their life and committing to follow Him as Lord and Saviour.
We believe that no-one is beyond God’s love, that no matter how far from God’s standards we may be or whatever we may have done in our lives, Jesus can be the answer, the missing dimension that makes sense of life.
We believe that God helps us to live and witness for him through the guiding, enabling and empowering work of the Holy Spirit that dwells within every Christian.
We believe there is more to life than just the years we live on earth; that Jesus will return again, that we will all have to give an account to God for our lives and that there is a heaven and a hell.
We believe that irrespective of what is happening in the world, God is ultimately in control.
